It has been said I could never win a sponsored silence. Well, this is your once in a lifetime opportunity to ensure I utter barely a word for 26.2 miles!
Yup, on 5th October and sustained only by Baxters minestrone soup, refreshing Highland Spring (and hopefully your kind donations) I'll be aiming to complete my first (and probably only) marathon (before dusk).
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is said to be one of the most scenic and with my puff and your pounds I hope to raise over £500 for two very worthwhile charities - Guide Dogs and Arthritis Care Scotland (there's a separate fund-raising sheet for the latter).
Guide Dogs is a charity committed to improving the lives of the blind and partially sighted. It costs over £10 a day to breed, train and care for each of the 1,000 guide dogs annually bred by the charity that also funds research into the prevention and cure of eye disease.
So every penny counts and I hope you'll feel able to donate via this secure Justgiving website.
