I didn't receive my passport on time so instead of cycling London to Paris, I am now doing London to Edinburgh.
On Wednesday 8th September 2009 I intend to start my cycle ride from London to Edinburgh - a journey of over 650 kilometers which will last for 4 days and 3 nights. My iternary is as follows:
London To Bedford
Bedford to Nottingham & Nottingham to Sheffield or Darlington
Darlington to Berwick or Eyemouth or Dunbar
Finally to Edinburgh
I can hardly ride a bike so why am I cycling to Edinburgh? Because I think it is time for an adventure and a challenge and in doing so I am hoping to raise some money for CHICKS charity .
This charity focuses on helping disadvantaged children (i.e. children who have experienced a range of social and personal problems including ABUSE, NEGLECT, POVERTY, LIVING IN CARE, etc) and providing them care, support, and a week long respite break. These children who come to CHICKS grow up in difficult and stressful situation where their childhood has been taken away from them. This charity aims to give these children a gift of 'hope' for the future.
I have to raise a minimum of £1000 before the 17th June 2009 and then i have another 4 weeks after the ride to raise another £250. If everybody who reads this donates I will reach my target of £1250. It's a modest target and I'd be pleased to raise it for such a worthy cause.
