Why your donation matters
In May we ran out of funds to continue our valuable Home Visiting service and as a result it has been suspended.
Without your support we cannot continue to provide this valuable service. However, with committed giving, our members could make a huge difference.
Since 2007 the Home Visiting service has provided the hardest hit families with one-to-one practical and emotional support at times of crisis. The home visitors are professionally trained and have personal experience of disability or supporting a disabled person.
If just 200 people gave £5 a month we would be able to fund the Home Visiting service for another year. Please give what you can now; it will make a huge difference.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Case study: donations in action
For Sian and Matt Troupe, it was a visit from a HemiHelp Home Visitor that helped them to come to terms with their son Ollie’s hemiplegia.
“The wisdom and experience the Home Visitors bring is valuable, and very reassuring,” says Sian. “After we became members HemiHelp arranged for Barbara, one of the Home Visitors, to come to see us. During the visit, she confirmed that we are first and foremost Ollie’s parents and we’re there to provide a stable, loving home. She told us about all the professionals who can help our little boy and we now know there is little he won’t be able to do without the right support. Just knowing there were other parents in the same boat as us made such a difference.
“Without the Home Visiting service we would be far less knowledgeable about hemiplegia and the implications for our family. Knowledge is power and the knowledge that HemiHelp has provided has given us the confidence to deal with Ollie's condition in a matter of fact and practical manner.”
