Hestia Charity Music Single - Stronger Than Before - by Surianne

Why your donation matters

Making either a regular gift or a one off donation will enable Hestia to enrich the lives of socially excluded people. Your gift can make a significant difference to the lives of the children and adults in our services.

Although we support many different vulnerable people throughout London - all who have varying levels of support needs, you can particularly help support the women and children in our domestic violence services. By buying your own downloadable copy of our charity music single - "STRONGER THAN BEFORE", by singer / songwriter - Surianne, all of you 79p will go towards funding the children and families projects in our domestic violence refuges. The song is available through iTunes (http://bit.ly/gUQMGf) and Amazon (http://amzn.to/hJybOe)

Thank you!

Case study: donations in action

People with a mental illness are often seen as different, when in fact they are ordinary people coping with extraordinary & often severe health condition such as bipolar disorder & schizophrenia. However, with good social & psychological support they can enjoy an active & fulfilling life.

Clive is one of over 600 people we have helped this year. He came to Hestia 3 years ago. Losing his job after 10yrs lead to a severe breakdown and his recovery has been a difficult journey. “It is demanding to get yourself back to good health“ says Clive, “the medication had side effects at first, but my body has adjusted to it now.”

His stay at Hestia is helping with his self-confidence. He is passionate about history, reading & cinema. He is planning to study for A-levels in history & business studies to improve his job skills & become more independent.

Clive is also involved in Hestia’s service user involvement group & has sat on some of Hestia’s staff recruitment panels.
