Hello folks! so you've probably got an e-mail asking for money...again...and this year it is another really awesome charity that I am trying to raise stacks of cash for so please help me out! In August 2008 5 young people from St Mary's Church in Wendover, along with 4 leaders will embark on 'Mission Malawi'. we will be sponsored by Africa Link - a brilliant charity that works directly with projects in Malawi - one of Africa's poorest countries with around 76% of the population living on less than £1 a day. Africa Link seeks to do two things - To raise awareness of the issues facing those people in Africa who have to deal with extreme poverty on a daily basis.
- To provide resources to those people to enable them to break out of the vicious cycle of poverty
Over three weeks we will be working hard to create some change as well as seeing all the hard and positive work that is being done in orphanages, medical centres and schools. This trip will not only benefit projects in Malawi and the group of us who shall be going on 'Mission Malawi' but also the entire community of St Mary's and friends and family. We can make a real difference in the understanding of a culture so very different from our own, and give these guys a new perspective and outlook on the world. We are working hard through various fundraising activities to raise as much money as we can for the charity sponsoring our trip - Africa Link.
