Hello!!!

I’m really excited to tell you that in September I shall be departing the UK to volunteer for VSO in a development programme in Cambodia for 3 months. This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. I’ll be working alongside volunteers from Cambodia, on a project that focuses on Inclusive Education in the Stung Treng region. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £1500 towards the work of VSO and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.

Amongst other things, I’ll be organising a bake off, quiz nights and bucket collections and you can keep track of how I get on here on my Justgiving page or hglyde.com/vso. Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, so
