This year we hope to support children's charity, Kids Company, with a series of events across the Capital that will help disadvantaged youths.
Kid’s Company is a London based charity, helping thousands of emotional vulnerable and deprived young inner-city children with practical, emotional and educational support. Its services reach the most deprived and at risk children whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges. For many, the roles of adult and child are reversed and, despite profound love, both struggle to survive.
DID YOU KNOW: 650,000 children in London live in poverty (Evening Standard, 2010)
Whether its painting schools, hosting a sports day, or holding cookery and music workshops, 200 members of staff will spend the day giving back to the local community and offering our support to the children who need it the most.
To support our initiative with Kids Company we need to raise £4,500 which will go to the charity to help pay for the activities we will be holding.
To help raise the money, on the 18th March 10 H&Kers will attempt to run a total of 101 laps of Soho Square (where we are based), which will equate to just over 20 miles. The run will be in a relay format with the only requirements for each lap being that they are complete laps and that the runner is wearing a funny wig when you cross the Start / Finish line, naturally.
We sincerely hope you can support us with a donation and help Hill & Knowlton and its staff make the 2010 Charity Day one to remember.
