I am the Founder Trustee of SAFE@LAST - Every year around 4000 children under 16 years old in South Yorkshire are forced to run from all sorts of situations and our aim is to make sure these children have somewhere to turn for advice, support and practical help...I'm sleeping rough to raise money so that SAFE@LAST can continue to run its vital services keeping more children safe.

On Friday 23 October, I will be spending a night sleeping rough in the car park of Parkgate Shopping in Rotherham along with over 180 other fabulous supporters. I did it last year and it certainly gave me some idea of what its like for children  who have little option but to sleep rough, although in truth we can have no real idea of the fear they must feel and why it is sometimes so easy for them to fall into very risky behaviours.

This week SAFE@LAST Helpline received more calls than any previous week from desperat young people needing access to our SAFEPLACE refuge.
