My story

Hi All,

Well I guess you just can't keep me away from it can you? I have a feeling though this could well be the last time or a while as there are now two other big distractions in my life in two little girls.

So, this year I am asking for you to donate as much as you can to the Lily Foundation, http://www.thelilyfoundation.org.uk/

I heard the story of Lily Merrit on my own radio station BBC London 94.9 told by Match of The Day commentator Jonathon Pearce and I was very moved at the time. You can find out more via the link above.

Lily Merrit's parents were told that she had Mitochondrial Disease when she was just weeks old and after fighting for eight months she sadly passed away. Her strength helped inspire the Lily Foundation.

The Lily Foundation is committed to finding a cure for Mitochondrial Disease and other metabolic disorders through funding research and also provides support to those involved and affected by metabolic disorders.

It makes a big difference on the day knowing you're part of a fund raising team and also knowing you've got the support and sponsorship from folk like yourselves. It really does the trick when digging deep at 18-20 miles.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Lily Foundation gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you once again for your generosity and I'll be thinking about you all on the 26th. Come back here after that and I'll tell you all about it......
