Hi everyone,

At the end of March 2009, Sean, Liz and Sorrel are hitch-hiking the 3600 miles to Marrakesh, Morocco from Portsmouth in aid of the DEC!!

The DEC is an umbrella organisation for 13 humanitarian charities, including Oxfam, Save the Children and the British Red Cross that have pledged to work together in times of crisis.  Currently they are providing vital aid and assistance in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.  (www.dec.org.uk)

In recent weeks, Gaza has been ravaged by Isreali bombs, which has resulted in a huge humanitarian crisis. 

- 80% of families in the Gaza Strip now depend on food aid.

- Upwards of 50,000 people are now homeless and at least 400,000 have no running water.
