I work for a catering company in a school who focus on providing healthy fresh food for the students and teachers and understand how healthy eating and exercise is crucial to a child’s well-being, improving ability and behaviour.

ESSA is such an important charity promoting the teaching of swimming in schools and getting children active as part of their education.  They organise swimming, diving, water polo and synchronised swimming competitions both nationally and internationally and is run entirely by a team of volunteers.  The following link explains more about the charity and what they do http://www.essa-schoolswimming.com/about.html.

With a young child who loves swimming, I really support this charity and organisation and would be very grateful if you can help me raise some money to support their great work.  There are too many children who have not had the benefit of learning to swim which is not only a shame but can hold potential risks – everyone will be near water at some point in their lives!

I have run a couple of Marathons but this will be my first one on the road and with a somewhat larger audience.  I’m aiming for a good time and hopefully won’t be overtaken by a phone box, loo seat, minion, ninja turtle or man in a tutu (maybe I’ll wear one?!).  All support is hugely appreciated and every penny counts!
