Why your donation matters

If you, a member of your family or a close friend, were faced with a terminal illness, you'd want the very best of care wouldn't you?

We can provide that special care, but we also need your help.

Situated in the Heart of Kent, our Hospice is a local charity specialising in palliative care for those who are diagnosed with a terminal illness. We have a team of professionals and volunteers who provide skilled care, comfort, compassion and hope. Our aim is to enable people to live with their illness and to gain the maximum quality of life, irrespective of whatever time they have left.

Case study: donations in action

Sarah was in her early 40's with a young family and had struggled to come to terms with her diagnosis of cancer. She had become increasingly depressed and had significant feelings of guilt that she was unable to be the Mum she wanted to be for her children. Sarah's husband appeared to be her only form of support since her diagnosis as throughout her surgery and ongoing chemotherapy, friends and family had kept their distance. Sarah's depression got worse and became a more significant problem then cancer itself. Sarah was refferred to The Heart of Kent Hospice by her Community Nurse for support and was refferred for complementary therapies to help her with relaxation techniques and also to the Family Services Team who were able to offer counselling to help Sarah address the issues she was dealing with. Sarah's family were also welcomed as an active part in her treatment.

Please help us to continue helping patients just like Sarah by donating to the Hospice today.
