Story
Paul Bridge, David Sherrington and Aaron Peake from Homes for Haringey are all running the London Marathon in aid of HACT, the housing action charity, on the 17th April 2011.
HACT work with housing providers to improve the wellbeing and living conditions of poor and marginalised people. The money raised by the Homes for Haringey team will fund the ‘Reach In’ placement and training scheme. The scheme is a three year project that will see a refugee worker gaining valuable skills and experience with Homes for Haringey and will:
· Deliver better housing advice and wider services to newly settling refugees;
· Develop structured training and volunteer placements for refugees in housing organisations, to develop mutual awareness and to improve employment prospects in housing for refugees and potentially address existing skills shortages in housing organisations.
To support the scheme the runners need to raise £7,500 - so please dig deep.
