From July to October I am riding a thousand miles round the hill tracks of Scotland to raise money for World Horse Welfare, accompanied by my Highland ponies Doogs and Yeoman.
I first got interested in the fantastic work this charity does through my farriers, the Balfours of Tealing, who regularly volunteer their time in the world's most needy communities. They train local people in the skills needed to look after working horses in developing countries, with lots of benefits for the horses AND the people.
This journey is a huge adventure for us, but one which will be exciting and no doubt challenging as the 'boys' and I wend our way through some of the wilder parts of Scotland. We've had tremendous support and help from businesses and individuals.
