My story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page.
We did it! The ‘Horsepower team’, consisting of six horse vets on motorcycles, completed a tour that ended up being longer, harder and more satisfying than any of us had anticipated! Starting with a send-off by explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes at the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace, the team spent 18 days negotiating over 3,000 miles through 9 countries, giving 78 talks to fund diagnostic and surgical equipment for the only two equine clinics in Mali and Mauritania. Along the way we prevailed over our support vehicle getting 'lost' somewhere in Belgium, a motorcycle running out of fuel on a German Autobahn, riders getting SODDEN in freezing rain in the French Alps, van drivers doing a very fine job trying to run us off the road (all countries, but special mention to Italy and Morocco), incomprehensible border bureaucracy in Morocco, the REALLY scary rush hour in Tangier and boiling winds that resembled an industrial hair drier in Spain!
We had the most wonderful support along the way – kind, welcoming people who opened their homes & hearts to help our cause! Thank you for your continued support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you.

Vets with Horsepower have done it! After Buckingham Palace, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, 3k+ miles, 9 countries, 18 days, 78 talks for 2 SPANA clinics in Mali & Mauritania, lost in Belgium, fuel-less in Germany, sodden in France, drivers' road rage, border bureaucracy in Morocco, scary
...Tangier traffic & searing Spanish winds - we did it! Thanks to those who opened their homes & hearts... & you for your support.
