Hospice Africa promotes palliative care (pain control in terminally ill cancer patients) in sub-Saharan Africa, using oral morphine. The work in Uganda started in 1993 and continues in Kampala, Mbarara and Hoima. Currently, palliative care projects are also being supported in Malawi, Cameroon and Nigeria.
