The VPO rural community development program is not simply a house building initiative; we work with the families to give them the opportunity to work towards a more comfortable life. The success we have so far seen has highlighted both the need of this program and its effectiveness in rebuilding the economic base of the community.

Our work is not just a quick fix –We do everything possible to ensure that when we step back the family have the means to provide for themselves by utilising their land. We also monitor their progress and provide further assistance if the situation is justified.

We invest time and effort – It is possible to build a traditional Khmer home in a few days if you employ a large team of builders to assist with the work, but we want the family and volunteers to build a connection and achieve success on the projects together; we aim for projects to last at least 1 month.
