The Howarth Timber Group is dedicated to supporting fantastic good causes.
Howarth’s nominated charity for a three year partnership is ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’, a charity that grants the wishes of children aged 2 to 16 with life threatening illnesses. The organisation is dedicated to helping their dreams come true.
One of the major fundraising events we have undertaken is a charity trek of the Great Wall of China in 2010, which itself generated several thousand pounds. This money, and other sums we aim to raise, will be used by When You Wish Upon a Star to grant the wishes of children who face challenges with great courage and will continue to experience unimaginable hurdles in life.
Following on from the success of our China Trek, we are pleased to announce that for 2011 Howarth Timber's Mark Terry, Stuart Badley and Jason Rothwell have committed to trek Mount Fansipan in Northern Vietnam. Mount Fansipan is the highest peak in Indochina, scaling a mighty 3143m above sea level and referred to as ‘the roof of Indochina’. The unique trek also includes two days of project work in a local community in Ba Vi.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
When You Wish Upon a Star and Howarth are committed to help dreams come true for children like Lawrence and Jack. Your support means the world to them.
“Lawrence had the best day ever when we gave him a day out at Catterick Army Barracks. He loves tanks and spent the day not only looking round all the tanks but was given the honour of sitting in the turret and operating the gun… but not firing it!”
“Jack returned from New York having seen all the skyscrapers you could imagine! He loved the Statue of Liberty and spent two days with the New York Police Department.”
So please dig deep and donate now. Many thanks.
