Unfortunately due to the onset of "runners knee" I was unable to take part in this years London Marathon. I can only assure people of the state of misery I have been in ever since realising it was going to happen (the day before in fact), and that this is NOT a convenient excuse. However to pick myself up I am applying to take part in the Berlin Marathon in September, and hope to be running again sometime in June following lots of swimming and physio. I hope everyone who has already sponsored me will be happy to transfer thier donations to cover Berlin as alternative (its no shorter). As an employee of Active Faith Communities I will be raising money for the community cohesion wing of the project, more specifically to help pay for bursaries so that young community activists from all over West Yorkshire can attend and take part in the Intercultural Communication and Leadership School programme. This is a four day residential seminar designed to develop leadership skills and build bridges between people from different communities and cultures. Such bursaries will allow us to offer places to as wide a range of participants as possible and help ensure that the seminar is accessible to all.
Many thanks for your support.
