Jane Tomlinson was a true inspiration in terms of her courage through illness and her determination to live a 'full' life whilst being terminally ill. As endurance athlete, I am well aware of the pain at taking part in these events. To undertake them whilst technically dying is awesome.
Jane died on September 3rd 2007.
As a tribute to Jane and all my friends and relatives who have been affected by cancer. I would like to undertake a series of endurance events. Starting in October 2007 and running till the end of 2008.
My main two targets of the year are "8in8" and Austria Ironman.
On April 6th 2008 I will leave the Cotswolds to run the 184 miles of the Thames Path in 7 days, roughly a marathon a day. On April 13th, the 8th Day, I will complete the challenge with London Marathon.
Three months later on July 13th, I will take part in Ironman Austria. For those who are unaware what an Ironman is, it is a 3.8km open water swim, a 180km bike followed by a marathon.
In addition to the above main targets I plan to run 8 half marathons in 8 days, October 14th to 21st 2007. Luton Marathon December 2nd 2007. Reading Half Marathon 2008. Bath Half Marathon 2008. Ironman UK 70.3 2008. Weymouth Half Ironman 2008. Ironman Antwerp 70.3. Ironman Monaco 70.3.
I will also do a few more marathons when I know the race calendar PLEASE DONATE
