I lost my mother to an extremely volotile form of liver cancer on 08/12/2010.  Ok so why not one of the big cancer research charities or Macmillan?  My mother was diagnosed with cancer just 26 days before she passed away.  She was treat by a fantastic team within the CCU at the Freeman.  She did not have the opportunity to be assisted by the MacMillan trust or any other organisation.

WHAT THE CHARITY DOES

THE CHARITY COMPLEMENTS NHS RESOURCES IN THE NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST.  THE CHARITY AWARDS GRANTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF SERVICE-ENHANCING EQUIPMENT, IMPROVEMENTS TO PATIENT AMENITIES, ENHANCEMENT TO STAFF FACILITIES AND FUNDING FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT.

WHERE THE MONEY CAN BE USED  

CUMBRIA, GATESHEAD, NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE CITY, NORTH TYNESIDE, NORTHUMBERLAND, SOUTH TYNESIDE and SUNDERLAND.

So if you think of all the NHS funded hospitals in these areas.  And all the different departments and wards with in these hospitals.  This charity can be used to help make the hospital experience better for staff, visitors, and most importantly patients.  Every single person who reads this will at some point in there lives need help or know some one who needs help and this charity can make it a better exeperience.
