Story

Dear Friends

This year, in what will be my final season as Rangers Manager, I am pledging my support to the Rangers Charity Foundation and seeking your backing for a very special fundraising challenge in May.

From 16 and 22 May I will be leading a team including Ally McCoist, Kenny McDowall, Ian Durrant and Chief Executive Martin Bain who will be tackling the wild Middle Fork of the Salmon River, Idaho to raise funds for the Foundation.

Beginning in the high Sawtooth Mountains we will attempt to raft through 75 miles of  boulder choked rapids up to 15ft tall at a time of year when snow melt generates the highest water levels of the year. The river also boasts the second deepest canyon in North America and with overnight temperatures likely to fall below zero this white water adventure will certainly be a challenge for everyone in the team.

During my time at Rangers I have always been impressed by the achievements of the Rangers Charity Foundation and I have been pleased to do whatever I can to support its tremendous work.  Football does come first, but the work of the Foundation reflects the true positive values that the Club represents both on and off the park.  Although I have to admit that the prospect of this challenge fills me with some degree of trepidation I also know that our team will be helping to make the world of difference to others through the work of the Rangers Charity Foundation.

I hope you will consider supporting our fundraising on behalf of this great cause.

Best wishes, Walter
