We, at I DO BELIEVE, have worked with FAIRY BOX for a while now. It has been a privilege and delight to witness the wonderful comfort this charity brings to children in hospital at any time day or night, however long or short their stay may be.
On the wards where the Fairy Box Charity is in place, each custom made wooden Fairy Box is filled with new toys, games and gifts suitable for toddlers to pre-teens. These gifts are available to parents, who are often unable to leave the hospital to buy a cheering gift at a crucial moment, or to staff on the ward who have treated a frightened or upset child. Such gifts, which the child keeps, provide a welcome distraction from a distressing situation for the child, their parents, and the staff involved in their care. Brothers and sisters too may also receive a gift to help them cope with the long hours that their family may need to spend in hospital with an ill child. A Fairy Box gift can alter the whole hospital experience, magically transforming memories which may be greater than the gift itself.
