At the end of June I am taking on the 3 peaks challenge; 5 school friends, 3 peaks and just 24 hours to do it in.
We will start late afternoon on Wednesday 1 July at Ben Nevis before being driven to Scafell Pike in the lake district and finishing in Snowdonia on 2 July. We will cover 26 miles in total on foot.
I have chosen Richard House, a purpose built childrens' hospice in East London, as my supported charity. Richard House help and accompany families with children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions during the child or young person's journey through life to death, creating positve experiences along the way which become good memories for the future.
There is no charge for families using these services but the approximate running costs in 08/09 are £3m. Many of the children supported require 24 hour care. My target of £1,500 is equivalent to the cost of 3 days care for a child at Richard House.
