Kay died on Tuesday 15th June 2010 after a long battle with breast cancer. Her funeral is at 3:30pm on Tuesday 22nd June 2010 at Guildford Crematorium. Before she died Kay asked that donations in lieu of flowers be made to either Odyssey, or to the Beacon Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Odyssey is a charity which enhances the quality of life for people with cancer through imaginative programmes of challenging and dramatic activities using the outdoors. Kay went on one of these courses in September 2009 and had a really memorable time, tackling new challenges and making many new friends. For more details see their website.

The Beacon Centre is the base of the Beacon Community Cancer and Palliative Care Service, and helps people at home cope with the effects of cancer or a life-changing progressive illness. The team provide specialist care to assist physical and emotional well-being and to enhance quality of life. They have supported Kay throughout her illness and especially in the last few weeks of her life enabling her to die peacefully at home with her family.

Donations to Odyssey can be made through this JustGiving page. Donations to the Beacon Centre can be made by sending cheques made out to "The Beacon Appeal" to Mullard Funerals, 121-123 High Street, Goldalming, Surrey, GU7 1AQ. We leave the choice to you.

Thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
