The World Land Trust is an international conservation organisation working to preserve the world's most biologically important and threatened lands. Supported by Sir David Attenborough and working with local organisations in Central and South America, the Philippines and India, the trust has helped protect over 375,000 acres of threatened wildlife habitats since its foundation in 1989.

My story

Appeal Extended!
We originally had a deadline of 31st August this year to ensure that the next corridors can be created. BUT, thanks to your support so far, we now have until August 2010 to secure the total funding...that's a whole extra year to save elephant habitats!
***Remember, your donation will be doubled, as we have a donor who will match all donations, up to a total of £100,000.***

The project: The World Land Trust (WLT) is working with the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) to safe-guard traditional migration routes for Indian elephants. The aim is to create protected corridors to enable elephants to move safely between existing protected areas. Of course, these corridors provide a safe habitat for many other species of endangered wildlife, including tiger. Together with WTI we have already successfully created a wildlife corridor in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya in NE India, and the protection of a vital corridor in Kerala, in the south, is almost complete. Elephants wasted no time in reclaiming these lands as their own, and are now seen regularly using both corridors.So please support this appeal and help threatened species such as Asian elephants and tigers. ) has already shown that corridors really work.
