My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page -- your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Music Makers is a UK based charity designed to help improve the lives of children, young adults and the elderly via a range of educational initiatives and music therapy programmes. Past projects include music performances in care homes for adults with dementia; rehabilitation schemes within prisons and young offenders' institutions; and music therapy for children with special needs and sensory impairments. The charity is especially concerned with promoting education and development for young people in the most deprived areas in Britain.

Fundraising in 2009

Races -  Goring 10k (March 1), Reading Half-Marathon (March 29), White Horse Half Marathon (5 April), Maidenhead 10 Mile (Good Friday), Hook Norton Relay (April),  Chiltern Chase 10k (7 June), Thame 10k (28 June)

Triathlons - Eton College Supersprint (May 17)

The Inca Trail 2-11 October

All fundraising ventures are self-financed so your donation goes direct to the charity.

We very much need your support to meet the ongoing costs of projects such as those outlined above.

Thanks so much for your support,

Best wishes, Inge

Race Results

1 March Goring 10k - thanks to Dr "Grace", and a spell in the JR hospital with a truck load of drugs and painkillers, I recovered from my medieval illnesses to tackle the Goring 10k.

(No-chip) Time 48.03. Race position:17th (354 women competitors) , Class position: 11th/199 in "Women's Open". This was an "undulating" course (read mountainous- yes, apparently there are mountains in South Oxfordshire), not to be attempted with a hangover from the night before! The croissant and coffee(s) helped. Thanks to Julia and Grace for making it "fun" - sort of. The best part of the day? The boozy lunch in Henley afterwards, of course! Anyone fancy joining me for Reading?

29 March Reading Half Marathon: Time: 1.42.38 -- Never trust a British weather report: it was like running in the Sahara - damn hot. Nonetheless, good fun had by all and great company. Bring on next week's challenge -- The White Horse Half Marathon ....

5 April White Horse Half Marathon -  Gun time: 1.42.39 Garmin: 1.40.38.

Eton Supersprint Triathlon -  Time: 1.31.41. Every second of every minute was about as painful as it gets. Battered by biblical storms, and semi-paralysed by the heart-stopping chill of Dorney Lake, it's a wonder any of us survived.

Maidenhead 10 mile: (chip) 1.15.19. So genteel and civilised compare to the previous week.

Chiltern Chase 10k: (gun time) 46:00. Class position: 4th. Scenic cross country run.

Thame 10k: 46:32. Class position: 7th.

Thames 10k Cross Country Chip Time: 45.08. Class position: 1st. My first trophy - hoorah!
