Story
On Friday 9 May, I will be taking part in the Kennel Challenge and spending a night in a life of a rescue dog!
I'll get to experience first-hand how the dogs at Wood Green, The Animals Charity are being cared for and get to meet some of the dogs looking for homes on the evening of the challenge before it’s time to get settled in for the night in their new state-of-the-art dog kennels. They believe they simply are good enough to sleep in!
The aim is to raise money towards the care of the many
animals at the Wood Green Centres and I'm hoping that the money raised with
this challenge will enable them to purchase at least one of the veterinary
equipment listed below:
- Patient monitor with capnography
- Blood pressure monitor
- V-Gel airway management system
- Centrifuge
- Autoclave, Anima vaccum model
- Theatre operating light
The individual who raises the most money overall will be crowned a top dog and a plaque will be placed in the dog rehoming main reception for members of the public to see.
Wood Green, The Animals Charity was established in North London in 1924 to take in lost, injured and unwanted animals from the streets of London. Today Wood Green finds secure, loving new homes for thousands of animals in need. As well as cats and dogs, they rehome many chickens, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, goats, ferrets and more! They also promote responsible pet ownership by providing support, guidance and education to both new and existing pet owners through their 4 rehoming centres in Wood Green - North London, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northampton.
