On the 11th of July 2008, a three-man team, Robert Innes, Edward Kennedy and Julian Kingscote, will be climbing Mont Blanc in the French Alps as the culmination of a two week Alpine Mountaineering course based in Chamonix.
At 4,808 M / 15,774 FT, Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Western Europe and the ascent will probably be one of the greatest physical challenges of our lives.
Why are we doing this? Well, we have always loved being up in the mountains. We are keen hill walkers and have climbed a lot of the UK peaks, so this is the next challenge.....albeit a very big one!
We are also climbing to raise money for a very worthwhile organisation, fly2help. There are many great charities out there helping all sorts of people but the unique way in which fly2help can change peoples lives has a special meaning to us and raising money by doing this climb is our way of giving something back to help those less fortunate than us.
