Jacinda,Julia, Joel and Kyle are taking part in a sponsored hike over the Longmynd Hills at Marsh brook, Shropshire on Saturday 8 October 2011.

There are 2 hikes, 7 miles and 20 miles. We have decided to hike the 7 miles ( warming up ready for the 20 mile next year)

We are raising money for a very good cause and have put the details below.

Members of the Communication Workers Union, their friends and families, will be walking 20 miles over the Longmynd Hills to raise money of the CWU Humanitarian Aid charity.

 

Many of the children residing in Eastern European orphanages are not orphans, but are placed there by families who confronted with overwhelming financial problems believe that their children will be better cared for in these institutions. The CWUHA target and help the most vulnerable families, and assist local fostering and adoption schemes.

Though the majority of our work is focused on other countries CWUHA has raised and donated thousands of pounds to many good causes in the UK, including hospices, a holiday home for children with life threatening illnesses and specialised equipment for CWU members’ children
