Story
So it's the day after the night before and I've completed the marathon.
The marathon itself was a very rewarding and fantastic experience. LEPRA printed my name on my T-Shirt so I had literally hundreds of "C'mon Jack" and "You can do it Jack" type shouts of encouragement. It was very inspiring and a bit humbling and has left me with a more positive view of human nature.
I finished the course in 4 hours 29 mins and 50 seconds which I was originally hoping to better. But since my training plan had all sorts of issues (knee injuries, colds, achilles problems, snow, etc) I didn't manage to put in enough miles and so I was pretty pleased just to have finished. I didn't mind getting over taken by Superman but I was less pleased when a gorilla and then a banana sprinted past though!
Thanks once again to everyone who's donated.

Running a marathon is a pretty brutal experience. On my previous attempt I cracked at 22 miles and had to hobble the last 4 miles with both legs cramping (see my photos and video opposite)
I'm going to run the 2010 Virgin London Marathon and hopefully this time it's going to be different! I'm going to go through more pain and do more training. It's also going to be for charity and the charity I've chosen is LEPRA which is a very worthwhile cause and whose mission is to restore health, hope and dignity to people affected by leprosy and other diseases of poverty.
Here are some reasons why you should donate :
• All donations will go entirely to LEPRA
• You’ll get a warm fuzzy feeling for donating to a charity.
• Using JustGiving is a safe, secure and easy process and you can claim Gift Aid.
Thanks.
