I have now completed my English Channel Swim! On the 2nd August 2009, I left Shakespeare Beach in Dover and swam for 12hrs 35mins before reaching Cap Blond-Nez in France. I cannot explain the feeling inside me when my feet touched the sand. It was so rough that I couldn't see how far from the beach I actually was - only when my hands scraped the sand, did I realise I had reached France. I will never ever forget it. However, I will also never ever forget the reason I have done this challenge. So far the amount of money that has been donated is incredible.... I can't thank everyone enough, and for those that do not really know Africa, you have no idea how much this money is going to make a difference.
