JAILBREAK · 28 January 2008

Saint Michael’s is the local hospice care charity ensuring people affected by terminal illness can access high quality, personalised care. We help thousands of local people each year and make no charge. Each year we must raise £7 million to provide our range of services.

Story

Saint Michael's Hospice staged a fictitious Jailbreak on Friday 7th March 2008. It was a networking experience with a real twist as some extremely well known local business men and women were locked up in Ripon Police & Prison Museum. The jewel thieves were apprehended, put on trial at the Courthouse and sent to Jail. Once inside, they spent their time trying to raise enough bail money to satisfy the Judge to secure their release, amongst their other tortures.

The rarest jewel in their loot, the fabulous 'Daisy Diamond' was awarded to 'Raffles' Alex Oldham, who was the prisoner raising the most money.  The event was a huge success and stands to raise over £11,000 when all pledges are paid.

Many prisoners could still be languishing in jail and need your pledged money to secure their release - donate now!

The prisoners awaiting their pledged money are:
Chris Bell (Stray FM),David Turner(Coda), Stuart Wright (5forSilver), Paul Marshall (HSBC),  Cliff Trotter (Mayor of Harrogate), David Horth (Victoria Shopping Centre), Hazel Barry (H2k Skincare), Kelly Wright (Audi), Alex Oldham (Hospice Trustee & Volunteer), Sarah Threlfall (Robinsons Lighting), David Bowden (Watson Burton)

We would be most grateful if you would support the Jailbreak by donating online.   Please add the prisoners name and do leave a 'comment'.

Donating online is a most efficient way to support Saint Michael's Hospice who will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please donate online now!

This event is being supported by The Old Deanery Hotel, Ripon Prison & Jail Museum, Daisy Recruitment, Stray FM, Signarama, Stratstone Honda Harrogate, Harrogate Spa Water, Harrogate Advertiser, HSBC.
