Brain Tumour Action provides help and support to people diagnosed with a brain tumour by way of support groups throughout the UK, information leaflets and aromotherapy treatment. It is also part funding brain tumour research projects in the UK.
James, Sam and Iain are three friends who are just about to start fifth year at Beeslack High School in Penicuik, Midlothian. With their standard grade exams out of the way they are spreading their wings as young adults and are heading off together on a three day cycle trip in the heart of the Scottish Highlands in July this year.
They plan to cycle south from Inverness along the Great Glen to Fort William and then onto Tyndrum via several sections of the West Highland Way. The route is mainly off road and covers 120+ miles along the banks of Loch Ness, through Glencoe and Rannoch Moor and down the Devil’s Staircase. The boys will be wild camping along the way.
James, Sam and Iain have decided to try and raise some money for their chosen charities by encouraging people to make a donation in support of the trip. James and Sam have chosen the Brain Tumour Action charity in memory of John Mill, a wonderful man and friend of James’s family who died last year after a courageous battle with a brain tumour. Iain has chosen to raise money for the Moonwalk Edinburgh 2009 (see elsewhere on justgiving.com).
If you would like to support James & Sam in their quest please make a donation to Brain Tumour Action online as detailed elsewhere on this page, or if you know the boys contact them direct. Any donation is welcome however small.
