This year James and I are back to take part in the Great North Run, and as we both got places in the general ballot this year, we have decided to join forces and run for Kirkwood Hospice.
As some of you may know James' Dad sadly lost his long battle with cancer just hours after James completed his first Great North Run in 2007, and spent his final days at Kirkwood Hospice. We felt it would be a fitting tribute to run this year to raise funds in Andrew's memory.
While James is a much much better runner than me he's patient enough to take me out training and I would be much much worse if it wasn't for him! We're both back to improve on our personal bests - James at 1:36 (!)and me just a little bit further behind on 2:20.
Please give generously to support the wonderful facilities they, and other similar hospices up and down the country, provide as they rely on fundraising efforts such as this for them to be able to continue the fantastic work they do. We also hope to build on the funds that James' Uncle raised by running the London Marathon early in the year.
The Great North Run is on the 20th September this year - the day after my birthday - so please help us raise lots of money to make up for the fact I won't be able to celebrate turning 24 until afterwards!
Now for the usual blurb..........Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Kirkwood Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you everyone!!!
