Finished main "run" at 8:20pm on Saturday, 102.5 miles and 12,600 ft of climb in 39 hours. We then carried on to complete the goal of 105 miles, 4 marathons, in under 48hrs. Had to stand on the full train back to Winchester, and after a snooze in the car got home at 4:45am on Sunday. Apart from some wear and tear, I feel great and am really thrilled with the wonderfully generous support for BLESMA. A big thank you to everyone - that support made all the difference when it looked like it might be difficult to finish. Also a very special thanks to Thane Hall for coming up with the idea, and proving a faultless navigator even at night after 70 miles non-stop.

Left Winchester 04:30, completed 37 miles so far. Lovely and warm, and feeling pretty good so far.

WOW!!!! Thank you all for your incredible generosity. I am totally humbled and delighted. Nearly ready to head to Winchester for overnight pre-start. This will be fantastic having so much support. No need to stop donations just because we've hit target though ;-)

Goodness - thank you so much for all this wonderful support. I am really touched by your generosity and kind (mostly!) words. I'm certainly going to give it my best shot. Less than 48 hrs to go......getting nervous now.

Really delighted to have reached £400! Just in final stages of preparation now, and wishing I'd done more training...

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

BLESMA is an amazing charity that supports those who have suffered serious injury serving their country. With the current fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, for every death reported on the news there are probably 2 or 3 very seriously wounded. They are almost always young people with their whole lives ahead of them, and while they can provide plenty of courage and determination, they do need specialist help, encouragement and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

As well as helping them achieve productive, challenging and enjoyable lives, BLESMA champions their cause when Government policy fails to support them properly.

I'm supporting BLESMA through my cost-reduction work, and by incentivising friends and clients to support them too. Please take a moment to look at their site and see what a difference they can make to those who have given so much for us all.

Please support our 100-Mile Challenge

On 25-26 June 2010, I'm going to be joined by an ex-RN friend Thane Hall as we attempt to run / walk the equivalent of 4 marathons in under 48 hours. This will be just over 100 miles along the South Downs Way, starting in Winchester and finishing (hopefully!) in Eastbourne. I have never run a marathon before, so 4 almost non-stop will definitely be the hardest thing I have ever done!  It is of course a modest challenge compared to that faced by wounded servicemen, but it will be quite gruelling enough.

There are lots of ways you can support us and BLESMA. Any donation, however modest, will be a great incentive to keep going.  If you can't manage this at present, please take a look at BLESMA's site - the more people who know about the work they do the better. Also, please forward this to any friends who you think may be interested in helping courageous young men and women who's lives have been shattered.
