Made it! The 4th annual walk was another success. Anna and I completed the walk together with over a hundred other Batten's Charity supporters. Thank you to the organisers and the Royal British Legion in Bourton-on-the-water for the use of their hall which was a huge help for the walk logistics. Any more donations are greatly appreciated and will be put to great use in supporting the charity and its aims.
We joined with the BDFA soon after Ben was diagnosed - Friday 19th July 2002 - what a day that was! Aged 11, Ben is now the oldest with Late Infantile Battens in the UK. Over the last 7 years we have seen him lose his ability to walk, talk, see and eat and we have precious little time with him left. During this time, the BDFA has moved on a lot and we're all determined to continue help developing the charity's supportive aims and eventually find a cure for this awful illness which has changed our lives.
The Batten Disease Family Association is the only dedicated UK charity for supporting Batten Disease families and the professionals who support them as well as facilitating research into the disease. Please therefore donate generously to ensure it can continue to expand and develop the excellent work it does.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Batten Disease Family Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now or join us on the sponsored walk yourself!
Thank you as ever from The Pickerings.
