This is James's 9th marathon and Lou's first international road-race - she is doing the 5k sprint on the same day as the marathon. James's training buddies, Doug and Darsk, are both doing marathons this year for equally worthy causes. St Andrews Hospice is the only Hospice in Lanarkshire, providing pallative care for terminally ill patients. There are 32 beds, each of which costs a small fortune to run. It is easy to get all misty-eyed about those high-profile charities out there, but Hospice care is no less deserving of your contributions.
