Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Since losing my father in May 2007 I would like to show my support for the brilliant charity Brain and Spine Foundation. Their efforts to support neurological conditions are fantastic.
On Sunday 4th July I will be cycling the epic La Marmotte, which is a legendary cyclosportive in South Eastern France. The 174km race climbs two huge alpine passes (Col de la Croix de Fer and Col du Galibier) and finishes up the 21 famous bends to Alpe d’Heuz, taking the total vertical ascent to over 5000m. These climbs are usually graced by the cycling elite as Le Tour de France races through.
On Sunday 25th July I will be venturing back over to the European Alps to race my first Ironman. Inspired by my brothers efforts in Austria and Germany I will be taking on the monster 3.8km swim, 180km bike and marathon run in Zurich Switzerland.
The training journey has given me some great experiences already from running in the punishing Vietnamese sun to the breath taking heights of the Andes. I am really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. I know with support of friends and family and memories of my father I will make the finish lines with some awesome memories.
