I'll be running the Great North Run this year and thought it would be a good opportunity to raise a bit of money for a good cause.
Fauna & Flora International (http://www.fauna-flora.org/) are a conservation charity who work with local communities to develop ethical, sensible and sustainable solutions to worldwide conservation issues. So far they have helped conserve over 12.5 million acres of threatened habitat (an area the size of Denmark) and are constantly working to protect endangered species and preserve biodiversity.

I chose this charity because I think preserving biodiversity is extremely important, both ethically, and for the obvious benefits against climate change, and feel that Fauna & Flora International have exactly the right approach to solving these difficult problems.

Donations of all sizes will be greatly appreciated as they will be used to make a big difference. For every £10 donation that Fauna & Flora International receive, on average they will end up raising and spending at least a further £100 on one of over 180 projects worldwide (they 'lever at least ten times more impact from your original donation').
