My name is Jamie and I am here to raise as much money as I can for my chosen charity which is Leukemia CARE. 

Leukemia is a horrible and very unforgiving disease which affects many families. My Grandad Bob (In the picture!) has been diagnosed with the acute Myleoid form of this disease which is terminal. Although upsetting as this news was for us, we are all happy that he has been able to live a long and happy life, and is out of the hospital and at home where he belongs, surrounded by a big family who all love him very much. Others are sometimes not so fortunate, and can fall victim to this terrible disease at a much younger age, and are robbed of their life experiences which is truly heartbreaking. 

Leukemia CARE are a charity who offer support to people of all ages affected by any blood or lymphatic cancer. They not only support patients, but carers and families too who can often carry a lot of the emotional strain when someone they love is diagnosed with a blood cancer.

Personally speaking, I am no marathon runner and the furthest I run is to the fridge when I'm hungry! I can truly see this being one of the toughest things I have ever done, however I am going to give it absolutely 110%, and I will complete it even if I crawl over that line 2 days later. I am registered with Leukemia CARE and I need to raise a minimum of £2250 in order to be able to take part in the event, so dig deep and be generous! Its a worthwhile cause.
