Story

Hi,

Thankyou very much for visiting my fundraising page.

In July this year I will be taking part in the Gobi Desert Challenge. This is a race over 140 miles which takes place in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia.

The Mongolian Gobi is a land of extremes. Its imposing sand dunes, towering mountains and seemingly endless sun-baked desert plains are home to wolves, bears, vultures and nomadic goat herders. One of the least forgiving environments on earth, temperatures soar above 40C in summer and plummet a staggering 80C through winter.

Gobi Challenge is a race of extremes. Setup by veterans disappointed with the lack of adventure offered by existing ultras, this event was formed to provide a genuine, back to basics style desert race. Over a course approximately 140 miles in length, competitors must negotiate dunes, an ice gorge hidden deep within a mountain range and desert plain.

As well as taking part in the challenge I am also aiming to raise money for the Accord Hospice Charity (details of which can be seen on the left).  I have a fundraising target of over £3000 so please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Thanks again and best wishes,

Jamie
