HALC Trek Sahara - October 2009
Day 1 'Morocco' - Fly to Ouarzazate at base of Atlas mountians, last stop before the desert!
Day 2 'Meet the camels' - 3 hour trek to Erg Lihoudi.
Day 3 'Skin n blisters' - I've got three why do I need more! 6 hour trek to L'oued L'Autreche.
Day 4 'Into the dunes' - 7 hour trek to Bourgame. Camp with spectacular views of....sand.
Day 5 'The dunes of Chgaga' - 7 hour trek across a stony desert floor. 'Chgaga'...I think that's the sound you make with your last gasp for water.
Day 6 'Scaling 100m high Dunes' - 7 hour trek, scramble, crawl, cry!
Day 7 'Saltpans & Mirages' - 7 hour trek, more blisters and hallucinations.
Day 8 'Atlas Mountains' - Into trucks for journey to Marrakech. Bumpy, dusty but at least it's not walking.
Days 9 & 10 'R & R' - Medical help, beer and fly home!
