Jane and Kevin ran the London Marathon to raise money and awareness about Prostate Cancer. Jane's father, Chris Williams, died in June 2005 of Prostate Cancer. He was a fit healthy man who never smoked or drank throughout his life. Chris raced motorbikes from his teens until just a few years before he died. He is pictured here in one of his favourite places on earth, the Isle of Man. He was an inspiration to many.
The London Marathon is hard for anyone but Jane has the additional challenge of battling against a congenital muscle disorder which has resulted in 10 operations at various times, inlcuding 3 on her hips and 1 on her spine. She had not run a single step until August last year!
Kevin is a rugby playing forward of the old school, meaning he is larger than the average runner weighing in at 17 stone
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and to all those who were there to help us around on the day. We have raised over £3000 which is fantastic and we completed the course in six hours. We managed to meet up at 3 miles from our respective starts and ran the rest of the race together.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Prostate Cancer Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
You can still sponsor us!
Many thanks for your support.
