Our personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

My name is Jannina Henderson. It has long been my ambition to walk around the coast of Britain for charity.

So, starting on 1st January, 2006, at the age of 55 and accompanied by my dogs, I will set off from the clock tower at Lyme Regis on the south coast to walk the entire coastline of mainland Britain, a distance of approximately 4,500 miles. I estimate that this will take me between 10 and 11 months. My aim is to walk an average of 16 miles a day, planning rest days where appropriate.

The money raised on the walk will specifically help to fund the Tree for All campaign, which this year has worked in conjunction with the Trafalgar Woods project, celebrating the close association between trees and the UK's maritime history. 2005 marks the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, and this event will be commemorated by creating 27 new woods, each one named after a ship in Nelson's fleet. School children, local communities and sea, army and air cadets are involved in planting trees in England, Wales and Scotland. The Tree for All campaign is the most ambitious children's tree planting project ever launched in the UK. Between September 2004 and 2009, the aim is to involve 1 million children in planting 12 million trees - that's one tree for every UK child under the age of 16. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Woodland Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
