Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Donkey Sanctuary gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Donkeys have been a part of our lives for millenia helping us to carry loads and walking the worlds trails with us so it seems appropriate that I walk to raise funds to look after those that have fallen on hard times.

In many places, even within Europe they are still used as a tool to carry loads and people and after their working days are over or if they are ill,  they are discarded without much thought. As a long lived hard working animal dont they diserve a little of our love and care in retirement? The Donkey Sanctuary works to relieve suffering amongst donkeys the world over, to offer education, care and sanctuary to donkeys the world over.

Im walking the Redways of Milton Keynes - all 180 miles of them starting 2nd July. I am aiming to do it in 10 weeks, which since Im middle aged, dont excercise much and several stone over weight will be quite a challenge. Not to mention fitting it in with a demanding job!

YES! I made it! It took a little longer than I had expected, due to other commitments. But I got there in the end. I would like to say a big thank you to all who have supported me so far and to those who thought you would wait to see if I made it, or have only just found out about my challenge - now is the time to donate.
