Although I have been a runner for many years now I've never ran more than a half marathon distance event.  About a year ago I decided I'd like to try running a full marathon at least once so registered, along with my sister's boyfriend Dave,  to do the 2008 Berlin marathon.  We've both been training for a few months now and the big day is fast approaching (28th September).   Ideally we'll be aiming to complete the 26.2 miles (42km) in under 4 hours, lets see what happens!

To make this event really worth running I've chosen Cancer Research as the charity I'd like to raise money for.  I'll be dedicating this run to the memory of my Grandad who did charity work with Cancer Research and who's wife, my Grandma, died from breast cancer many years ago.
