Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. The London Marathon is an event...no, an occasion...that I have watched year after year on the box and a couple of times "live" and thought that it would be amazing to be take part in but that was as far as that thought ever got. I had always assumed that it was physically impossible for me to run a marathon, due to my status as a non-runner, my asthma and having "Mercer-Knees"! But, after going for a rare road run, I thought "I quite enjoyed that" which led to the crazy thought a few days/runs later "maybe the marathon isn't such an impossible dream". And now here I am, less than two weeks away from my first Marathon. The Flora London Marathon. Still can't believe it really!
And onto the money bit. Your support, both financial and the flag-waving sort, would be much appreciated. I am running for Asthma UK, which is a cause close to my heart, or rather my chest, as I suffer from Asthma, although nowhere near as much as those who will benefit from your gift. To find about more about the charity, visit http://www.asthma.org.uk. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Asthma UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thanks,
Jason

Training Update: Started slowly but improving now, with a good showing at the Fleet Half Marathon on 15/3/09 where I beat my previous time by over 6 minutes. Cheers for the all the encouragement.
Have now reached the 20-mile mark in my training. A nice feeling and although I don't think I've done enough training to get my ideal time, i'm now confident that I can at least get round the course and hopefully enjoy the experience.

Well, I did it - in 4 hours 30 mins...at some point I'll put some further details down on here but in the mean time, thanks for all your support and encouragement. Jason
