I did it!!! - and it was a "grand day out." I touched the doors at Clay House at 8-00 am and set off through the woods towards Norland Moor for the 50 mile adventure. Just over eight and a half hours later I returned to Clay House to touch the doors before taking a dip in the river. Massive thanks to Joanna (and Jess...) who kept me going with pasta, maltloaf, bananas, chocolate milkshake, electrolyte replacement drinks, water, lucozade and loads of encouragement and also to my Mum and Dad for a swift drink in the White Beare beer garden at Norwood Green and for being there at the finish.
Thanks ever so much to all of you who sponsored me - the challenge was tougher than I expected and I had to dig in to overcome the cramp and fatigue, but with all the money pledged there was never a doubt that I would finish. I've met my target and am looking forwards to contacting Macmillan Cancer Support with the good news.
