Story

Hi All,

We're back again to raise more vital funds for Headway Cardiff. Last year we raised a staggering amount before fees of nearly £12,000  thanks to everyone's amazing generosity. Friends, family, acquaintances and strangers have all shown us overwhelming support and kindness which has helped us through some dark times. To read our story, go to last year's page at www.justgiving.com/jdisasurvivor

Onwards and upwards to this year - Please dig deep in your pockets again and maybe we can even beat last year's total!!! Headway Cardiff rely solely on sponsorship from events like this and they always need more funds to continue their valuable and life changing work. Headway continues to enhance the life of many, including my partner James. Attending Headway on Wednesday is the highlight of his week and is a welcome reprieve from the hospital ward.

As some of you will know James continues to improve.  He can now eat pureed foods, speak a few words and understands a lot more. He has had his final operation on his leg (hopefully) and is doing some good standing practice in a frame and getting physically stronger. This time last year he couldn't really move his left arm, but now he can bend it, touch his face and grip. He is a true testament to what can be achieved. He still has his wicked sense of humour and gets up to antics on the ward, which I find amusing (though the nurses don't). He does miss home now, which is hard to see but we may even have him back home causing mischief by the end of this year!!!

The race is in Cardiff on 19th October, come and watch if you like. I'll be the one at the back!
